| My Neighborhood - Manhattan, New York |
| Financial District |
| The center of the world's biggest money exchanges, the Financial District is also an exciting neighborhood filled with numerous restaurants and stores where treasures and treats may tempt you to exchange a few bills of your own. |

From decadent shops to gritty pubs, darkened alleys to outdoor oases, the Financial District offers an assortment of places to explore - it has cobblestone streets, turn-of-the-century façades, impressive views, and great transit. Constructed when there were no zoning laws, the Financial District is well known for its towering buildings built very close to one another.

| |
| Some of the area's oldest buildings have been refurbished or replaced by luxury high rises. Dictated in great part by the schedule of the stock market, the area is packed during business hours and grows quiet after dark. Besides financial institutions, the neighborhood also holds grocery stores, restaurants, theaters, and hotels, and is home to the South Street Seaport. |
| The Financial District provide its residents with a wonderful place to shop, eat, or simply take in a view of the city. In recent years, new construction and commercial-to-residential conversions have added hundreds of units to the area. Government incentives after 9/11 encouraged many residents and businesses to stay or relocate to the area, which has helped to restore its vibrancy. |
